Quick FFTEC Hot Parts Kit Review
What's up all,
I wanted to post up a quick review of my FFTEC kit. I ordered my kit in late February, and received it mid-April. I had a build time of ~6 weeks. Although it took longer than quoted for delivery, that wasn't a deal breaker for me. There were also delays on black/red colored wastegates, so I opted for the purple ones I wasn't looking to get the kit installed until the summer. Once I received the kit, I was amazed with the quality of the fabrication. I had a good friend of mine (in the industry) evaluate the construction, and agreed that it was a solid product. Now where I made a mistake was assuming the kit was a “complete” bolt-on product. While I was going through my purchase, I wanted to make sure any additional items I needed to buy were accounted for. Optimally, I would’ve have liked to see a breakdown of additional items needed for the install. This would have helped out in delays I was having with my shop sourcing parts. This also helps out those who wish to tackle this themselves. Installation of the kit was pretty straight forward, everything lined up as intended with the only modification done to the turbo inlet. Lines did have to be fabricated, merge from the downpipe to exhaust, relocating the ww reservoir, & making transitions from hot/cold side of the intercooler piping. I had the downpipe wrapped, turbo blanket for the turbo & gold tape installed on the bead to the shock tower. I also have gold tape on the valve cover. After the kit was installed, I had the shop tune the car. I was only able to tune on spring pressure (15lb springs) as my FSB was malfunctioning. I put down ~456/384 corrected on 93 octane/19psi on their mustang dyno. I will go for E85/meth tuning in the next week or so. I hope to make C~ 630-650 on their dyno, & 135+ traps. I was worried about how daily driving would be, to my surprise it is awesome! You would never know my car has a big turbo kit on it. Although once in boost, she is a F****** ANIMAL! The wonderful sounds of the turbo spooling, the boom sticks releasing unwanted pressure (dump tubes)…is totally insane. Even the sound of my diverters releasing boost is sick….driving the car is sooo much fun. The best part imo, is the exhaust note. I think the N54 with stock twins sound like poop, but the change to the sound going single is orgasmic. All in all my experience with FFTEC has been good. They delivered a solid product, that is working as advertised!

Always nice to get differing perspectives....Car sounds great brotha.
Seeing the singles installed and running makes me so jealous. Patience is not a virtue of mine while I wait for final fabrication. Lol.

You typically want to go bigger on the a/r with a twin scroll. The 1.0 is pretty responsive, I'm on 15psi waste gate springs and once I get to 3k boost comes in hard...I can't judge full boost since I'm only running off the gates. In the next week or so, I'll get a better picture of how it comes on.
What was scary when I first received the car, was losing traction while logging doing 3rd gear pulls from ~60. Such a different feel, it is exactly what I was looking for though. The car will be setup for roll events.

I didn't like the purple at first, but now I love them. I was thinking of doing my engine cover the same color, but it'll clash with the red interior.

Looks great! I ordered the 6466 top mount kit from them end of September so I should hopefully be seeing it in the next few weeks along with the stg 3 "hulk" Fuel-it LPFP setup and Motiv's port injection setup. Im going to tune it with a Haltech platinum sport ems and hopefully crack off some 800+whp pulls as long as my clutch allows me to but we'll see. I love how fairly simple it it to get awesome power out of these cars. My other more 'race' car I've done extensive fab work and mods to get it over 800whp granted it's only a 4cyl.

The reason why a Haltech is because I have it lying on the shelf in my garage since I upgraded to the new even more bad ass Haltech Elite 2500 for my other car. Plus, I'm a big fan of Haltech. lol I've tuned on multiple ems' and I just like Haltech, the software is nice, no glitches, etc.
