Fastest 335xi on JB2HR, beat this if you can!
After the recommendations by another poster to get over my disappointment over Terry being banned, i figured i would go and do a few runs on the gtech pro rr after having received the h-pill modification and in addition to the r-switch.
Temperature was 36F tonight. Tank was half full. Gas is 3 gallons of unleaded sunoco 104 and 8 gallons of mobil 93 (mean octane 96). 60 ft 1.854 s 0-60 mph 3.983 s 1/8 mile 7.974@92.58 mph 1/4 mile 12.220@115.62 mph I have attached in the first graph below the three consecutive runs done tonight with JB2HR and the fourth run is the JB2R run i previously posted a few days ago. I CHALLENGE any 335xi owner out there including the many jb detractors that regaled us with their posts today to match these numbers with any tune or piggyback system, procede or otherwise, with and without dp intake etc. My car is stock except for JB2HR or R as indicated. The only change in addition to the h-pill is i changed the 17 inch rft's to 225/50 (instead of 45) ContiWinterSport winter tires (that's right) which if anything should worsen the car's acceleration since they have a bigger diameter than the stock 225/45. I hope the ardent posters can match these numbers regardless of transmission etc. |

This second figure is a composite that shows the results from the JB2HR (black line), JB2R (red line), JB2 (green line) and my 997S (blue line). All runs made using same gtech pro rr unit on same location.
Take a look at the 0-130 and compare to the Porsche... Any comments? |

All of the accelerometers set time 0 after a certain distance, typically 12 inches, which is what is set as default. Please search, in particular look at hotrod182's comparison of gtech pro vs. track times.

You need time slips....where is the nearest track? G meters but validation with timeslips is what is needed.

By the way, I have asked the moderators to cancel my membership to this forum after the crap of the last two days so this is probably the last post from me. It has been fun but there is too much bias and i will take my comments elsewhere. It has been fun, over and out.

Tbone, i wish i could do that, but i don't have a nearby track. The numbers from my 997S and 335xi stock and previously from my e46M3 and e60M5 were all consistent with others numbers from both car magazine tests and track numbers. The acceleration runs are also consistent, witness the three runs from today one on top of the other even using a 6 speed. Hotrod's has covered this enough and i am confident of the numbers. How about this, i will accept accelerometer data for the challenge.

??? This isn't a Terry vs. Shiv thing.... This is a data validation thing.

It's a i cant stand the bias against one tuner vs the other and the lack of fairness and the fact that one tuner's data is consistently disparaged even when it is reproduced by his customers. I have not had to deal with this on other car forums and it's time for me to hang it up here. I remember you from m5board and that was a much more pleasant place.

Good luck, you gotta do what is right for you. But I do see lots of Terry supporters here and people can't argue with data. See you on the M5board

Also, did you ever Gtech the M5? Describe the difference in acceleration that you feel in the XI compared to the Carrera S. Is it obvious now? Or does the Carrera "feel" quicker? I hear you about the sorry a$$ track situation. The one open track day in 3 months (100 miles from here), and it gets rained out! But yes, my Gtech readings were as close as you could imagine to my track slips. I would bet money if the track was right here where I test on my Gtech, I would be getting my 12.6x at 113.XX on 19" street tires! As one of the few modified XI owners on this board, hopefully you stick around long enough to give us this information. |
