Okay so first of all I have a 2008 BMW 335xi has about 92xxx miles runs great but, I have this problem especially when the car is still cold the radio just pauses for like 5 seconds and turns back on it constantly does this. There is no audio coming from the speakers and the radio screen shuts off during those 5 seconds, its really annoying what can it be?

I second the last opinion.

Why because of the IBS system.
It can turn stuff off if it thinks the battery is low.

Probably the cold temps are exasperating the problem.
Try putting a slow charge on the battery and see if it helps.

Not sure if you ever figured this out but mine has this probelm as well and I have determined that my issue is the Blutooth Module going out in my radio. I disconnect my phone and it works fine (minus Bluettoth)
