Gears Grinding!!
Everytime I switch gears, it would grind. I thought that was because my clutch was going. Now that I installed a new clutch, it still grinds when I switch gears. Even when I press the clutch to the floor, there is still minimal grinding. What the hell could be the problem?? Or solution??? CDV delete??

That's my question, but you can use my DIY to change the tranny fluid to Royal Purple Synchromax. The difference is noticable!

Grinding is typically un-related to clutch wear. When you hear grinding it is the dogteeth in the transmission that are grinding together to mate. It's typically caused by bad syncros that won't spin the dogteeth correctly before going into the next gear. Time to rebuild the tranny and double clutch all day in the mean time.

There are only a few things that can cause "gear Clash"
One is going to be a clutch not disengaging. another is the synchro which pushes on the clutch teeth and slows down the the gear so the sleeve can lock onto the clutch teeth to engage that gear. also, I notice when trying to shift a bit faster when having the stock CDV i would get some 2nd and 3rd gear grinding...since i put the modded CDV in I have not had an issue... try that and see if it helps any. |
