My e92 keeps showing a "right brake light failure" I have replaced the bulb but still the error is coming up. Any ideas?

What code? What age car? This is quite a common issue with the bulb connectors. I have had it recently, I just made the connection better by tightening the grip on the bulb and using some contact cleaner. Not thrown a code since. If it continue I have read bmw were carrying out a replacement on the whole board as connectors were improved on later cars. Hope that helps.

I had this problem too with one of the brake lights, I think it was the left one. This was at the time where I still had a small amount of faith left in the dealer. Car was with them for a service and they fixed this at the same time, apparently by doing what Andy described above.

cheap bulbs can also sometimes still show an error even though it works.

Check the contacts and make sure you have not pulled a wire from the plug, even a lose connection can throw error codes.

I've got a similar issue. I can tap the bulb housing in the tail gate and it starts working for a day or so. Going to try everything suggested here

Yeah sounds like exactly the same issue, I gave up at one point and drove with the warning, so it's not an exact science. But touch would since virtually crushing the bulb into the holder it's not thrown a code

Managed to clear the error. As above, really pushed the bulb in and hey presto. I'll see how long it lasts
