Bits and pieces
Hi all,
I am relativly new here but have taken a back seat and looked manly on here from a research and keeping up to date method. However in the new year I will get some pics up of our baby and hopefully will start getting little bits done here and there every month. The car, so I have a 2011 E91 184bhp 320d m sport business touring. We got it from snows in portsmouth. She had 27k on the clock and was near mint when we got it. The only bad but I can say is dealer prep is pretty fucking awful and the chonkers machine buffed the car without masking up. This has taken the paint off the very edge of the back window trim on each side which is annoying to say the least. Nothing a black sharpie pen won't fix mind. Other than that she is impeccable. So I have some questions: 1. I am looking at getting the BMW style carbon flippers/splitter. I will not pay bMW price for them but I have found SSD do them. Has anyone used these people for them before? If so have they got any pics? In relation to above I have found a company on eBay that dot he exact same items from tiwan for about £130 in carbon fibre... Has anyone seen or used those? 2. I am looking at getting the carbon rear diffuser with just 1 exhaust port. again this will come from SSD, has anyone used or got pictures of this? 3. I was looking at Matt black kidney grills. Anyone know a good cheap and reliable source for these I have looked but it's a minefield!! 4. And finally, I was looking at 12mm spacers with standard mv3 wheels I have been told this won't run can anyone quantify this? Any help will be Appreciated. Matt |

SSDD are a good company and I've bought a number of things from them. I would say his prices are high but then again not a lot of companies exist that do the same stuff at any other cheaper prices overall. Speak to Teddy and mention Sam, hopefully he'll feel generous.
P.S. I don't get anything for referring. |

Yes you'll be fine with 12mm spacers.
I looked at non-BMW black grilles, but decided the quality didn't look up to it. Save your pennies and buy BMW I'd suggest. Here's a pic of my SSDD rear diffuser:

Well it's official. 12mm spacers on an LCI don't work!! The tears scrub when you go over a speed hump. I need to face off about 3mm off the rear of the spacer to get it about right.... More fucking ball ache. I suddenly remember why I stopped modding cars.
Oh well. For those of you out there with an LCI and Michelin pilot sport run flats thinking of using spacers... 8mm is the most you can go I think. |

When I bought my OEM performance diffuser I got a replacement tray in the box, fitted and lined up perfect. I know some people like to buy the individual parts and not the complete set, I got the black stickers too for the corner pieces.

Yes. As I recall I had to trim a bit off the length and drill a couple of new holes to secure it in place.

Nope this is literally just over a speed bump and letting the back squat down slightly.
Measured it properly and I need about 4mm shaving off. Nothing a lathe won't sort, Making the spacer 8mm on the rear. The front @ 12mm is fine but I will drop this back too to make the track width more in keeping all the way round. Right shame. Annoying thing is if I wasn't running runflats I recon I could have a slightly different profile tyre and all would be well. |
