Can you sync your bluetooth to more than 1 phone?

Does anyone know whether you can sync your bluetooth to more than 1 phone? I already have mine sync, but my boyfriend drives my car sometimes and he would like to set his up too. I don't want to set it up for him only to find out that it will mess up my phone. (afterall, it is my car)

And if you can set up both phones, what happens when you're both in the car and you both get a call at the same time?

Any feedback would be great. Thank you!

Yes,

You can sync your phone with more than one phone and if you're both in the car, you have to select which phone (device) the system syncs with via the menu on the radio or iDrive. You can also just disable the bluetooth on the phone you don't want synced when you're both in the car.

i think by moving the phone up in the list it gives it priority over the other synced phones?

I have like 6 phones synced so that friends who ride with me a lot can use it as well. It's really convenient.

You can pair (not sync) up to four phones with your car.
If you add a fifth phone, the first one will be deleted.

Only one of course can be used at a time.

I also think the last one paired gets priority if both are in the car, but you can change the priority in idrive.

Same w/ your phone. If you pair it to a BT headset after the car and have the headset on in the car, the phone will prioritize to the headset.

There's some Ford or Chrysler commercial that was on tv a few months ago where everyone was getting calls in the car through BT with their own cell phones. I highly doubt it works that way. I was sort of tempted to go into a dealer and challenge them to reproduce it.

I am doubtful too. Even if it was possible why would this be a feature? Does everyone in the car want to listen to the others conversations? Do they have mics all over the car so the backseat people can be clearly heard if its their call? I dont see how having 5 people in a car all receiving calls through the audio system is a feature.

Car commercials have little to do with reality. This is a magic and non-existent feature. Just like the commercial where the dumb girl is in the back seat staring out the sunroof... and they call her from the sidewalk... um... on what phone exactly?

Dude, may be one of your friends would use your car to call a hot girl, and you have imprint of her number, then you would use it to call her and...

That's 1 of the reasons I would not want my contacts stored in my car.

Point is, even the op here doesn't know about BT pairing ability/priority. People could see that commercial and have a real expectation of having the whole family's phones synced to the van's BT. Granted it's not the only reason for buying that van and the dealer probably wouldn't take it back for a full refund when they find out the truth.

Overall, it's probably a issue. I know I've read it either in the phone's manual or the car's.
