Pictures Requested E90 High Gloss Black Shadowline Trim

From owners of E90 with High gloss Black Shadowline Window Trim.

Please post some pictures of various angle and distance to see details and look from a view of the whole car. I am thinking of doing the swap on my upcoming custom E90 335i but I would like to see it before shelling out the $$$.

Thanks in advance.

Kev-

Where did you get the trim? Please tell me you found it cheaper than $700 a side.

I have OEM shadowline trim on my Black E90. You can check various pics of it in these threads:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97075
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98944

Here's a teaser:

As mentioned, it's expensive ($800-$900 for parts) but well worth it. Find a parts dept that accepts your BMWCCA membership. They'll give you up to 20% off for being a BMWCCA member.

Other than having to be removed/re-installed during install of the trim, how do the mirror assemblies relate to the shadowline trim?

Did you get only the chrome replaced or did you do the pillards and mirrors as well?

Please post some pictures when you get a chance.

Thanks. It seems I can't see the pictures in the thread you posted at work. I will try to see if I can see them from my home CPU.

I know if the morro is done for a full conversion it gets $$$. I am considering only doint replacing the chrome part and ingnoring the pillards and mirrors. However, if it would look like ass I might leave it as is. I tried unsuccessfully to get option "760" High Gloss Shadowline Trim from factory.

If you browse on RealOEM.com you will see that the mirrors for option "760" High Gloss Shadowline Trim have different PN. If you want to do a ful conversion, the mirrors have to be replaced as their base is High Gloss as well. I definitely not doing the mirrors.

I don't know but I tried more than once and got only a "NO" from BMW Canada. I also tried to get options 775 (Athracyte Headliner) and 715 (M Aero Package) and couldn't.

At least I got my custom color and Piano Black trim.

Ah I am able to see the pictures from my home computer. I see that you only replaced the chrome trim and did not included the pillars and mirrors. That exactly one option I wanted to see since I will do the same if I go ahead with it.

Kind if ironic since my E91 came with the matte black trim and I replaced it with the chrome (I like the way it loos on a tinted black car) and now for the E90 I will replace the chrome for the gloss black (the 335i will be Silver Grey).

More pictures fellows, please and thank you.

After checking out the pictures of Remmib's car, I see what you guys are saying. Wasn't even aware of shadowline mirror casings and door pillars. And here I thought I was finished modding.

Anyway, the flat black mirror casings and door pillars don't look bad if you keep the plastic freshly moisturized. I use Zaino Z16 rubber gloss once a month to keep a dark wet finish. Works surprisingly well on all exterior trim (both rubber and plastic).

Oh I knew about that too well, trust me. I am just debating between leaving the car as is or changing only the chrome part for High Gloss Shadowline or matte black. I am not interrested in shelling the $$$ for the full high gloss conversion.

I think changing it to the 328 look would be good since it will match the entire exterior package. The chrome looks really out of place IMHO.
