So anyone in Suffolk Co pay their ticket online? I received one over a month ago but the system keeps saying invalid ticket, or when I didn't enter the ticket it said no open tickets on my license.

The ticket is barely readable, and it's for "speed not reasonable for conditions", yet doesn't display a speed I was going.

The court date is in 2 weeks.

The last ticket I got, I was able to just pay it online; but that was 2 years ago.

Just moved out to Deer Park LI from queens a few months ago and my bro got a ticket from Suffolk county cops for driving with his highbeams on. Didn't have a penalty price on it and my cousin whose a nypd didn't even know how to go about it besides pleading not guilty and go to court. Maybe you should do the same. You might've been speeding but it doesn't say you were going past the speed limit.

Fight it and win easily because the cop won't show or you can point out the error that he wasn't paying attention enough to write what you did incorrectly. If the cop made errors in the write up... What other mistakes could he have made?? Use that to bring out doubt on the entire issue and make his "subjective claim" doubtful overall against your "subjective claim" that you were driving reasonable for the condition.

If he comes back in court with other facts... Ask why those details were neglected on the citation? Because due process requires that you were informed of what you did incorrectly at the time of the error (not at some time in the future). Since the cop failed to follow due process and we are not sure what other errors he made, you could also cross examine the office to ask if he was distracted that day or was it particularly stressful day in his personal or work life as a work up to asking about these neglected errors.

More than likely you will win, don't let the prosecutor bully you before seeing the judge... Don't give them the ammo of making a deal and learning how u plan to defend yourself. That will give them time to think of excuses rather hitting them up in front of the judge ambush style.

If asked why you won't take a bargain deal... Just say you prefer to cross examine the officer in the court room on public record.

If a judge asks you what speed you were going to cut thru the BS, your response should be... The issue here is not the speed i was traveling at, but rather this officer not following procedures and wasting the courts time, tax payer money, and the time of everyone else waiting to have a fair day in court. If the officer can't do his job properly then anything he witnesses is in doubt because he lacks the ability to be thorough (An essential skill set of a law enforcement officer). I have doubt over this citation and any and all past citations this officer has ever written so far if the quality of this is an indicator of his best work.
