2009 E90 W/Bluetooth-- Can I stream my music?
What is needed to play my music via bluetooth on my E90 335i w out navigation?
I have bluetooth currently connected and my phone works well, (iPhone 6) but i try to press play on music while on bluetooth mode and nothing plays, would like to have to not have the phone plugged in and use steering wheel controls if possible. Thank you! Also-- If i want to have Sirius XM in my car what adapter/service/coding would need to be done!

combox retrofit I believe
combox retrofit I believe
I think it may only be for Nav cars though. They first appeared in the 2010 and 2011 models. You might find more info in the idrive subforum. Also its part of the NBT retrofit I believe. http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=122 Or the cheap way out is the wma1000 or 3000 if you have and apple phone for bluetooth streaming.(and 6fl =usb) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=wma3000 In cars 09 and before all the add on's where hardware modules after some of the stuff went into the radio or idrive/nav. Other aftermarket solutions are the Dension Gateway 500 s BT and similar devices. There are other cheap devices that stream through the aux but you won't get steering wheel controls . Its hard to do this without a Nav. Last edited by ctuna; 02-10-2015 at 10:18 PM.. |

I am really interested in this myself. I have 2009 E90 335i Sedan with Professional HU, BT, SOS Button, but only the AUX hookup in console. Would really like to stream music VIA BT. I gotta figure out how I might figure out if that's possible with my setup, and how to determine where to start.

There are many threads on this search for A2DP

I don't think there is a factory solution for the pro radio . You need Nav for the combox (possible but not practical as you need a new dash currently for the retrofit and its pretty expensive unless you are extra lucky and an expert internet dumpster diver) Aftermarket solutions are Dension gateway 500s bt and its clones. Cheap converters such as the Blackberry gatway that plug into the aux. More elaborate setups that use wi fi and a headphone dac that also plug into the aux. |

I have a 2009 328i with premium package (bluetooth and usb), no NAV. I am currently using Visseo Tune2air WMA1000 to stream musing to my car with my iPhone6. Works like a charm including steering controls.
My phone is connected to both my cars bluetooth and to the visseo. So when I receive a call, I can still answer the call from my steering or the radio itself. The only issue I have seen happen randomly is that sometimes if I use youtube before entering the car, the visseo is not able to get the itunes to play my music. I just have to manually open the itunes app and play it and then on it works fine. |
