Possible swirl marks/scratches?
I just picked up my car 330i in Titanium Silver and I noticed what appear to be swirl marks or scratches on the right side of the hood. I noticed them from the lights in the garage. Today is overcast, but when outside I didnt notice them. Unfortunately, today is overcast so I cant determine if these show in natural sunlight.
Do these sound like swirl marks? Any ideas on how to fix (if possible)? Thanks, Andy

I don't know if they have "pepboys" in CT, if not try autozone or kragens. But If I were you I first take it to the dealer and complain about it. Thats not good to have swirl marks on ur first day. They should take care of it. Zymol Wax goes for around 13$. They should also sell the waxing pads which they're like 4$

I will try this today and let you know if it works. If not, ill call the dealer back, but I dont really want them waxing/polishing the car, etc.

you need a polish and doing it by hand will take forever. Buy some nice polishes and PC and pad kit. Chris

I was just about to buy the items and then I see this post. What polish should I buy? Whats a pc and pad kit? I am new to this. Also, when I buy this stuff, do I hand wash the car first before applying?
This sounds complicated, maybe I should just go back to the dealer. In any event I want to learn how to do this for my own sake. Thanks guys. Andy

For light scratches you can use ScratchX by hand. It is available anywhere including Wal Mart. Make sure you work it in with a foam applicator or microfiber cloth. Do not just wipe on/ wipe off. Here is an exqample where my wife used her fingernail to remopve a little residue from a magnetic sticker. The car is a green Jeep. After Scratck X the area wasreally smooth.

Im not sure if its a scratch as its only noticeable while in the garage with a light on. Unfortuntely I cant tell if its noticeable in sunlight as I leave for work and retun in the dark and im driving my other car and its been raining since Friday. Should I still use scratch x for this?
Thanks for all the replies. Andy
