Boost Pressure Sensor.. Same as TMAP Sensor?
Just had a question. Does anyone know if the "Boost Pressure Sensor" and the "TMAP sensor" are one and the same on the 335i?
From my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) the TMAP sensor calculates temperature (and thus density) in addition to pressure to come up with total number of oxygen molecules that will be combusted. A couple of months ago, I went to the dealer with an SES light. The end result as per the dealer's description was "boost pressure sensor failure, sensor replaced, codes cleared." Just wondering is this meant that my TMAP sensor had failed, or if there was a separate sensor for just "boost pressure." Any thoughts? |

I believe that the TMAP sensor and boost pressure sensor are the same thing. I know that when I snapped the clips off of my TMAP sensor and ordered a new one, it was labeled as a boost pressure sensor.
