If all else fails. Remove the PROcede and take your car to the dealership.

I too had the 3 to 4 gear limp mode at 6800 RPM each time I did a 3-4 pull. This was after installing V2-12-19 map I believe. I first did the speed delimiting map without the extra green loom. I checked all connections and hoses, they were good, and then I re-installed the firmware and uploaded the speed limiting map 12-24. I then reset the ECU, disconnected the battery for an hour. This fixed my problem. I do not know if it was the firmware or map but it fixed the problem. I suspect I had a bad firmware download the first time. FYI man hope this helps but you may have heard it all before. G/L

Did you do the plug replacement yourself or did you have BMW dealership do that? If you did it yourself, did you buy the plug tool? If so where'd you get it? Wanna sell it?

Well I have the newest map, and yes i did run the extra green loom, and I am using the delimited map. Same issue, i have tried to disconnect the battery for an entire night same issue. It doesnt happen everytime i go from 3rd to 4th only when I do it consecutively. If the car is cold I have no issues, however, when the oil temp is around 230-250 the car will go into limp mode every few attempts to go over 100mph. I took the car to BMW and all I got was, "sorry but you need to stop redlining your car, there is nothing we can do for you since we cant take the car up to 100 mph to replicate the issue" How can I redline my car? I have a step! So I paid $520 to have BMW change the plugs and coils and I have the same issue. So now Im thinking its the injector since I always get Cylider 6 misfire. There is a couple of variables that i am thinking might cause it but they are pure speculation and I wanted your oppinion on what could be the issue.
1) the cold weather is chicago 2) hardware/software issue with the PROcede, (is there anyway to reformat it?) 3) the injector is bad Please, someone help me! |

Like someone said before pull the Procede and see if it still does it. If it doesn't you know where your problem is. If it continues press BMW harder to take care of it.

How come you had to pay $500 bucks to get them to diagnose your limp mode issue? Would it go into limp mode if you were all stock? And you got an 07 E92 right? If it happens stock, pull the Procede and take it back AND get your 500 bones back...

He paid 500 bucks for them to replace the plugs and coils, not diagnose.

This problem does not occur when he turns everything back to stock.

I am having this issue with and without the green loom. I also dont have this issue when I take the procede off. Also I notice that the car is shifting at a higher rpm then stock in forth gear its over 7000rpms vs 68-6900 rpms stock.

Maybe they just took the $500 and didn't do anything since it was running fine stock. Did he at least get all the used coils and plugs back?

Chitown,
Have you tried using the latest 1-10-08 map along with the new firmware that was released on this date? Reason I ask is because you keep mentioning the 12-24 map, I know Shiv mentioned features changed in the latest map for the speed delimited. If it doesn't go into limp when the car is stock, then I would think your injector would not be the problem. My .02 is diagnose the PROcede. |
