MHD Flasher announcement
MHD Flasher is the first Android handheld application to bring ECU tuning and monitoring to the BMW N54 engine. The MHD Flasher reveals the immense margin of power BMW left on the table with the N54 while still retaining the sophistication of the original engine management program.
→ Easy to install Connect any compatible Android device to your car using a standard K+Dcan cable along with an OTG USB adapter, install one of the pre-purchased MHD maps and enjoy the power and performance benefits of the MHD maps by Wedge Performance. → Keep an eye on the tuning Monitor your engine behavior using a configurable gauges layout to keep an eye on any of the 50+ engine monitors like oil temp, boost pressure, actual load or individual cylinder ignition timing. Activate the logging mode to save up to 30 monitors to a standard CSV file for later analysis. Track issues by reading the error codes, and delete them once resolved. → Flash your ECU back to a stock anytime, as often as you need to. No ECU backup is needed. → Custom tuning support As an alternative to built-in maps, many tuners can provide advanced custom mapping for those who have higher or special performance needs. The MHD Flasher can be downloaded here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...hd.flasher.n54 Main features description: ═══ Flasher module ═══ - Flash built-in maps (purchased separately), piggyback backend maps or custom user-tuned .BIN files. - Backup up the stock ECU software, as fast as 3 seconds on most of the cars. - Provides handy options like power limiter per gear, wastegate rattle fix or exhaust burble settings. - Read / delete engine trouble codes. - Reset adaptation values (Lambda, Fuel/air, Octane rating, VANOS, Throttle, and Battery). - 2 minutes map switching; initial install time: 18 minutes on KLINE cars (2007 & Early 2008), 38 minutes on DCAN cars (2008+). ═══ Monitor module ═══ - Extensive logging values list, up to 30 values at the same time. - Save logging session to .CSV files - Integrated csv log viewer - Up to 8 configurable gauges - Automatic or manual log session start. ═══ Optional MHD maps packs ═══ - Maps by Wedge Performance - Stage 1 pack. The ECU connection is checked before displaying available purchases. Q: Does my Android device need to be permanently plugged to the OBD port? A: No. Once a flash is performed you can unplug your device. Q: Do I need to purchase a new license each time I flash a map? A: No, you can ref lash as many times as needed. Q: Is a battery charger required? A: It is highly recommended for long flashes (install, uninstall). A healthy battery will handle short flashes (map changes) fine but the use of a battery charger remains recommended. Last edited by MHD Tuning; 10-20-2016 at 07:43 AM.. |

Interested to hear more about the internet connection requirement.
My tablet currently lives in my car. I use it for BMWhat coding and it has no data connection. Would I have to bring it indoors everyday for it to connect to WiFi and continue working? What's the ETA for Z435i support? BQ has one as a project car now so I thought this flasher would support the Z4 out of the box. |

I have the K-line cable, OTG, and android. If you need a beta guy, Im pretty well off in the area of testing. I assume this somehow uses Cobb software if you can edit the files and remove the nannies such as Ben and Ken do. Or is that too much info yet? Either way Im in for some help if needed.
Also when and were can we get the app to test the hardware we have currently to make sure it will work. As well the term module is not hardware but the tune package itself correct? Last edited by WilliamS; 02-27-2015 at 11:42 AM.. |

What happens after 24 hours? Once you have loaded these applications to your android device......why do you still need an internet connection? |

Sounds very interesting. Nice that you split them up so we could flash then datalog with the JB4 app if you have those already. Am excited to see the interface you use and the results.

Sounds like you need an internet connection and then have to flash your car/monitor within 24 hours. I'm guessing it checks licenses and then verification expires after 24 hours.

Actually it is the Google Store services that check the purchases validity. Quote:

So if my android device used for flashing/logging has been sitting in my glove compartment turned off and unable to connect to the internet for more than 24 hours while I'm driving and my car starts sputtering and popping check engine lights (this has actually happened to me on more than one occasion) my options are:
1. limp car to nearest WiFi hotspot 2. Park car and walk to my nearest WiFi hotspot and walk back once my device functions again 3. Have car towed to nearest WiFi hotspot just so that I can check codes, switch maps or maybe even uninstall for a dealer visit? |

For many it won't be an issue as they will be utilizing their main device, which is always connected to the network, for the purpose of flashing, logging etc. For me, it makes the product a non-starter. Hopefully they figure out a way to overcome this.

If the 24 hr time limit has expired how would I upload my custom modified map? Do I need to re-purchase the flasher module for a second 24 hour period, or just reconnect it to the internet to revalidate it? |
