Setting up Split Second

Hey guys,

Planning on doing my MOTIV PI install this weekend, was curious if any of you have completed this yet? The install itself doesn't look too bad, I am more concerned with setting up the Split Second controller.

I know I will need to buy a DATA to USB cable to load the data to the controller.....are you guys using the stuff over on N 54 Tech?

Thanks for the feedback

I am interested in this as well. I think you can just load the flash from Terry on N 54 Tech. Or Jake should be able to walk you thru it too.

Start with the file terry posted as a good base map. I can take a look and see if I do anything differently.

The injectors terry is running is way over kill that what's needed. Personally I'd go smaller injectors and increase DC. From what I've read he's only at about 35%dc @670hp. If you leave those things open longer theoretically you should have better distribution in a batch fire style system

It has to be USB to RS232. eBay has them for cheap.

Thank you Allen

My PI is slated to show up tomorrow! Walnut blast in the AM, and hopefully installing kit + new LPF too

What size would you suggest then? 40# injectors? That's technically and extra 2400cc per hr!! Lol vs 3300cc per hr.

I'd just do some math. If your goal is 700whp on 100% e85 than you probably only need 350-400cc per cylinder. I would personally like to see injectors get up into the 70-80% dc range like most factory systems are built to. We use 72 psi LP fuel systems vs 43.5 which all common efi injectors are rated at, also add your boost reference in there, meaning their #50 injectors are flowing way more than #50 injectors. So it'll take a easy to find injector flow to psi calculator, horsepower calculator, and some common knowledge to properly fit a PI with the correct injectors.

Hi Give_Em_The_DD,

Did you have to tweak the split second map that you got from Terry?

If so, do you mind sharing the revised map?

Cheers,
Alex
