316i/318i/320i Eisenmann Muffler on 325i?

Friend of mine bought an almost new Eisenmann muffler for little money.
We wanted to put it on when I noticed that on the papers it said that it was for a 316i, 318i or 320i. Luckely we didn't do any cutting yet.
Now I believe I've read a while ago that if you don't use a proper muffler, specifically for your engine that it will mess with pressures inside the engine (I believe the article was about a Suzuki GSX-R bike) and you will get a loss of power. I am not 100% sure if this is the case for cars, but it's plaussible since it's basically a muffler made for a 4 cylinder engine that we're going to place on a 6 cylinder. Anyone has any experience with this?
His car is an E90 325i from 2005.
Also he has LPI (expensive petrol here in Belgium ) anyone know if that could get affected?

Thanks in advance
