Rear Diverter Valve unhooked - what are the normal repercussions?

For some time now, (couple of weeks) I've noticed that the rush of sound when accelerating from a low speed has been louder than normal and then when letting off the throttle from an acceleration, a plastic "slam" sound was happening,,, .... so I just had a chance to look under the hood and saw that the back diverter valve was totally unhooked from the Intake Pipe. I re-connected it and made sure it "clicked", then pulled to make sure it was not coming back off. Could this cause the car to be slower by a few tenths in the 1/4 mile? the reason I ask is that from my G-tech, I noticed the past few runs in the past week that the car was running 2-3 tenths slower and about 3mph slower too. I'm hoping that was why. I also have been getting my P29E0 and P29E1 codes more than normal. (hoping to fix that with the new MHD tune or Wedge tune with better fuel scalars)
Just curious of thoughts or if anyone knows from experience..

the car definitely feels stronger today but my private track was occupied (state trooper on road) so I couldn't run my test to verify. I'm assuming with the back pipe totally off, it was freaking out the MAF or whatever we have and the mixture was off...
