This question is for all alphabet delete tuned consumers out there. What differences in milage have you seen,(under low load/normal conditions)? I just received my tune about a week and a half ago, and so far my milage is down from my understanding I thought most peoples milage increased? Could there be another reason for my loss of milage? I just drove 1800 miles 2 days before tune and averaged 37mpg for the entire trip. I have put on about 700 mi since and my average is about 32mpg. On the bright side, I DO have more power proven through butt dyno, and more importantly torque app
One more piece of info, I have not removed scr yet, I plan to do this in about 2 weeks and install 3" pipe from dpf to tips

32-34 mpg is what i average with highway commute... you expect north of 37mpg on your car? think you need to go 328d.

Pre tune I was getting 40-41 mpg on the highway during long trips. I will log some data on the next trip, post tune and see what it shows.

I'm not sure you read my post, I just drove 1800 miles and averaged 37 for the ENTIRE trip... In fact for the first 400 miles I averaged 41 at a reduced speed,(65-70) no hills, and no wind, no regens. The 37mpg was 75-80, (4) regenerations, hills, wind, stops for gas, ect... Also, this was with (4) people in the car, and the trunk packed shut, (literally) Minnesota to Miami.

OP, i'm just saying if you want better MPG = 328d.

Gtp you said something about the tip of the dpf, so you still have the dpf? People who had a mileage increase did a delete. I doubt you will see a mileage improvement if all you get is a tune

Yes, I deleted dpf with the excommunicated ones pipe, coded out egr, and def. I plan to install full exhaust when I get back home. I also plan to "hog out" egr, or make a replacement piece to free up flow. I am also thinking of adding vrsf intercooler at some point. My first thought was my scr was already partial plugged, but if that were true my milage still should not have dropped after the tune. My second thought would be lurking cbu, but I would have the same thought process for that as well... I plan to pull intake when I get home, I have been running meth for almost a year now, so I'm curious to see results of cleaning, as I did take picks of inside of egr before meth, and block off plates.

I've noted a little increase. I think it's buried in the DPF delete thread that no one reads anymore. Many questions are repeated in new threads that are addressed there.

My mpg test grounds are the flat stretch of highway between south Houston and Galveston island. No A/C on and cruise set to 65. Using the computer ( I know this is flawed ) I went from 41 to 43 mpg. This is only based on a 20 mile test and no data on wind direction.

It's hard to compare for different speeds. Galveston police really protect that stretch of road so I can't do a 80 mph test.

Oh I guess I missed that. Yeah I would expect a small increase after delete. I didn't notice any change after replacing the EGR with an open tube so I wouldn't expect you to see much there. Getting rid of the scr should help. I don't see any reason you would lose mileage with the delete and tune other than that when you get on it you're burning even more fuel.

My average mpg has slightly gone down since getting the tune. This is mainly contributed to me driving like a dick and rolling coal. If I behaved and drive the way I did prior to the tune I would def. see a 2-3 mpg increase in average fuel economy.

Mine is about the same with a stage 1 tune and alphabet delete. If I behave during my commute I can do 35-36. Strange though, just after installing the DDE it was way up, like 45 or so (even with some curious trys on what happens when you press the skinny pedal) for about 50 miles and then slowly dropped.
However, I have not yet managed to do a full tank without giving in to the urge of feeling that fantastic acceleration.

I talked to Jarek yesterday. He said the Stage 1 should not affect mileage and might even improve it under light driving, assuming the alphabet soup comes off.

How do you clean it off? Full fueling in 3rd and 4th gear?
I was hoping to be able to ask the DDE for a regen via diagnostic but haven't tried that yet.

Lol, I was referring to soot and my lead foot at times. I don't have a DPF so regens are all coded out.
