So I picked up a 2011 diesel with 55K miles on it last July. Have about 78K on it now (outside sales). A little plastidip on the wheels on to tide me over until I grbbed my winter setup. 275/40/18 and 245/35/18 ![]() Sold my 2008 JK (hobby turned obsession), after having babies in July 2013 and July 2014 ![]() ![]() ![]() Got tired of filling the fuel tank in a 3/4 ton Yukon XL (former tow rig) with the 30-40k I drive per year, so it went too, in search of something friendlier at the pump. I like fun vehicles though...no Hondas for me (enter the d) ![]() Grabbed some winter tires for the d...went the pizza cutter route, smaller wheel with narrow tire (205). Definitely need some spacers, the tire/wheel sit so damn far inside the wheel well ![]() Work takes me crazy places...this was a long, steeper than it looks in the photo, gravel road covered in about an inch of ice. Blizzaks didn't have shit on the ice, here. Took me a minute to get out of this situation. ![]() I'm serious about my BBQ...had a truck/SUV for so long, figured this would be alright ![]() Have since thrown a JBD on, keeping it around 75 or 80%, haven't yet grabbed the OBD cord, don't want to throw a code and limp mode it without the means to correct. Ordered F14s from Forgestar mid January, 13 weeks later they finally showed up. Their spec for wheels on the e90 chassis is quite stupid...rear is currently 19x10 et28, should be more like et 35-40 to squeeze the 275 I wanted underneath it. Have since rolled the hell out of the fenders, still rubbing the side wall on the tiniest bumps/level changes. Will crank camber a little negtive as a temp remedy, but need to get into the fenders heavier long term. Fronts are 19x9.5 et30 and they said DO NOT go wider than 235...should have bought the 245 I wanted and made the wheel 8.5 or 9" wide. So much damn stretch in this setup. Basically, I need to reorder tires. Looks alright though...just gotta turn the music up and ignore the damage I'm doing to the rubber ![]() ![]() ![]() stupid stretch ![]() Good pic of the ridiculously inset winters on the rear ![]() Finish from forgestar, textured gunmetal...haven't decided how I feel yet. It's either going to suck hard to keep clean, or be terribly easy. I'm not sure yet... ![]() Anywho...been creeping on you guys' posts for a while, learning stuff. Figured I'd introduce myself - I'll throw occasional updates in here. Trying to not let this one get away from me like the Jeep did (there's another jeep on the horizon...waiting to find the perfect totaled JK to tear apart). Cheers! |

Interesting thread, best of luck with it. I drove mine for a week since i bought it and its been in the shop ever since. CBU issues @ 53k that CarMax is picking up the tab for. Fun times...

![]() I don't know if mine has ever carbon buildup issues, or ever been cleaned. I'm inclined to pull the head and take a peek. I'd likely clean it myself before forking out $1,500+ I've read a little about egr block off plates for the exhaust manifold - I'm assuming the egr has to be bypassed and coded from the ECU to do this? Id really like to delete the dpf as well, but I have nobody I can find to code near me. |

I also live in Columbus near Worthington and have the CAN tool if you ever need to borrow it. Mine is 2009 and I run the JDB around 90-95%. The only codes I have are if the car is not warmed up and I stomp on it.
Interesting you came from a JK. I had a YJ and TJ before the d. I'd love to get into a JK 4-door or keep the d and get a CJ to wrench on. |

10" et28 is probably their spec for the pre-LCI e90. They probably have a different spec for LCI e90s since the LCI is 8mm wider (16mm wider WMS to WMS) in the rear than pre-LCI.

Yeah they knew I have an LCI car, but whetever. I'm rubbing way too much for comfort right now, around town driving is miserable. Not TOO bad on the highway. Don't know whether in going to order 265/30 and be done with it, or tear into the fenders a little more aggressively. Need to decide soon though. |

Honestly if it were me I would sell the wheels and get the right fitment, probably would shoot some messages to whoever recommended the wheel and hope they would try to make it right. Even with 265s you might rub, and at 265 on a 10" wheel youre stretching the tire big time. FWIW im running 275 michelin PSS in the rear, which are a bit more square shouldered than the DW, on an et43 and could maybe run as much as a 295 without rubbing on sport suspension. Its not as flush as you might want it, personally I prefer more tire vs more flush, but you could always run a 5mm spacer to fit. If you look at the pictures your rub is practically all the way down to the wheel, I dont see a skinnier tire making much difference in that case. Either way, I know how much rubbing sucks and hope whatever you decide works out.

They're calling these the right fitment, LCI and pre LCI both use same spec. It's the only way to get super deep concave.
So 265/30/19 it is. I don't want to risk cracking my paint to get the pull I'll need for the current tires |

And a little additional bump stop should be enough to save the fenders from the wheels (which I really don't think would be an issue anyway, provided I'm not jumping the car anytime soon)

They need to find some self respect if theyre telling people thats the right size without serious warning about rubbing. You shouldnt have to stretch the crap out of your tires just to not rub when on stock suspension with the "right" fitment. Unless of course when they give the fitment they also say you *will* have to roll your fenders and stretch the crap out of the tires in order to not rub. I hope the 265s work for you.

Welcome and nice ride! I am actually looking to relocate to the columbus area, whenever that happens I'll have to reach out to you. Also probably I'll pick up a used grand cherokee for the winter time since I can't imagine letting my car go through an OH winter, hah!

I'm actually looking to relocate to that area on my own. Originally from CLE, but figured CBUS was close enough while being different, young, and thriving. Have an interview friday there so we shall see how that goes.
While I'm thinking about it, CBUS doesn't have emissions tests do they? Also, I saw they approved the removal of the front license plate. Hope both of those are the case

Idk about front license plate, but come to think of it I haven't been tagged by a meter maid in quite some time...good luck with the interview! |

265 mounted...I'm not cringing making turns and going over small bumps anymore...Definitely need to lower it a tick. The stretch on the rears is nowhere near as bad as the fronts
