It's clear that most of us here prefer bimmer over benz. However, I want to see as too how many people actually HATE benz . I think its a great car just not as great as BMW. How about you guys?

I really like the SL and S. I think the S is better looking than the 7. For a 2 seat roadster, not much beats the SL.

Hate's a strong word. I don't really hate any Benz. In fact, I think they're great for what they intend to be. I just don't like them for driving is all.

In term of design, I like MB more than BMW. But driving a MB makes me look old and loaded, which I am not since I am only 26 and a young professional. I feel young and "happier" with BMW brand. but this is just me.

If this is my 1st German car and I am 40+, I would already picked MB. But now I guess that won't happen because my next car will be a 5

Huge selection of cars.
Their AMG line is amazing.

Hate is the wrong word here but i really don't like those smush mobiles. Some of their cars are really cool, like the SLR Mclaren, but most of them are just for luxury and don't really have any sporty characteristics. The AMG line is cool but not innovative because they use the same engine in almost every car. And i HATEEEEE their steering wheel designs. The old ones looked like a pillow and the new ones look like they came out of an S2000. One thing that Benz deserves credit for is their inventions. Most of the things in a modern Mercedes-Benz show up in a Japanese economy car like 8 years later

SOmeone was telling me that Benz is greater name wise than BMW. I didn't agree with him. I consider both equal. Benz for senior people and BMW for the younger ones with more sport. Same as comparison between Toyotas and Hondas.

I recently test drove a 350 SLK. I like the looks and price of it. It has a tough suspension(tougher than 3 series) and steering was tight too. The looks of new C-class are also catching.

Actually I also own MB R350 for my family, and I love the smoothness of it.

i dont hate them but like
if they think that they are faster/better than bmw/benz then i do
but i understand that some people can only afford a honda

To me Benz are like if you want to roll by and want to be seen by others. It's more luxury & flashy than BMWs. I mean if I see a Z4 coupe I would think "man that car would be great for spirited driving." If I saw an SLK I would think "wow that's a niiice looking car" but that's pretty much it (i.e. I dont think of MB as being sporty)>

I like several Mercedes-Benzes myself. I like the E60 530i more than the E-class, but I like the S-class much more than the 7-series or A8. BMW does sporty better, MBZ does luxury better; choose accordingly.

i GUESS most people who like bmw probably won't hate benz cause if u are able to appreciate the handling of a bmw you probably have the taste to appreiciate a nice and comfy benz too. Personally i love the S class (both old and new) a lot and my dad owns one its probably the most comfortable car i ever ride in. The SLR is also amazing so is the Cl 63 amg E63amg C63 amg SL600 In fact pretty much every benz is extremely amazing and nice aw... maybe i should get a nice comfy benz for my next ride haha....

There is a difference

Mercedes has to be respected no matter what. They can produce amazing machines.
