E92 335i stock exhaust mod!

So let me get this straight, I have been reading that you can take off your muffler, saw the side pieces, remove the two pieces that make it quit and put a 2 1/2 inch pipe there to make it straight pipe and it's like a homemade PE? I just want to get everything figured out before I contact my exhaust guy. I already have an X pipe so I wouldn't have to do that either. Any feedback is appreciated, especially if anyone has done this themselves.
Thanks guys.

There are so many threads on this topic.... even a whole instructional one that shows you every step of the process.

Please search.

Trust me, I have researched and searched it just wanted to see what people have thought about it with a more update post since the ones I have found were years ago.

Regardless of time, this mod doesn't change. The process doesn't change. The sound doesn't change. The exhaust doesn't change.

Not sure what sort of feedback you could possibly be looking for.

Have you tried the golf tee mod? If not, try that first, it gets pretty loud with the flapper disabled. If you aren't satisfied with that, get the BMW performance exhaust.

Last post was yesterday...

But I'm also going to be marginally helpful and post the link.

There is a PDF with full instructions/pictures/etc. I took this to my exhaust shop to have them do it.

I saw one person's car who had this done. His cuts were on the visible bottom of the exhaust, and it looked like crap from behind the car bc the welds were rusted.

Why not buy the PE for 600 bucks new? If they still offer it for that much that is!

There is a whole pdf floating out there with detailed instructions on how to do it. You could just give the whole pdf to you mechanic to see if he could do it.
