20,000 miles on the black stuff
20,000 miles on the black stuff clocked up this morning.
So that's effectively just under 15K PA since I picked up the E92 on 30/9/06 just 7 days after its UK Launch. Last tank 57 litres, 537.1 miles with a reserve showing of 42 so nearly 580 mile range worked average 42.84 (OBC said 42.8 MPG) Overall 41.334MPG 20,006.6 miles on 2200.38 litres cost £2,151.19 or 10.75p/mile Different brews of the black stuff Min 3 fill-ups to make the table BP Standard diesel Av 40.06MPG - 5810.3 miles on 659.3 Litres BP Ultimate diesel Av 40.37MPG - 2970.2 miles on 334.45 Litres Total Standard diesel Av 41.93MPG - 1877.0 miles on 203.5 Litres Tesco Standard diesel Av 42.51MPG - 8728.4 miles on 933.38 Litres Note I do feel that the BP Ultimate does provide a smoother engine. But having given it a fair test (6 fills) it doesn't live up to its claims of extra MPGwhen I am driving it. Tescos fuel is often discounted by 5p if we do our shopping there, so that an added bonus in these dayz of $$$$ blackgold Best result Tescos std brew July 07 539.5 miles on 55.5 Litres ..Av 44.19 MPG Worst result was using Ultimate BP diesel 17th Oct 06 with just 1052 on the clock 422.8 miles on 50.50 litres ..Av 38.06 YES I LIKE FACTS AND FIGURES

Yeah, you do like your facts and figures
You've got some impressive mpg figures there I must say. I can't get any better than 32 mpg average. I know of another on here with a 335d who also gets very good mpg. Must be me Thanks for the info. on the BP ultimate as well - don't think I'll bother. |

Just checked on the shell website...not a single shell garage within 13 miles of my 90 mile daily commute.
But i will try it when I next pass and need soem fuel, not very often really 15k mile sis only 30 ish fills a year, compared to when I had the Boxster S which needed more regular feeding, returned 27mpg. The BMer is a fair bit quicker down the (same) straights as well.

That is impressive given u have some 110 bhp more than me ...for my 54 litres i get 630 with btwn 70 and 75 left in the range and i also concur the difference is minimal compared to the price btwn supermarket and the big boys expensive stuff.Aveage shows 58.8.Although i did notice the range drops radically fast and i wonder how close to the 700 mile mark id get if i chanced it.
In terms of noise thats what the audio systems for in diesels to drowned out the taxi effect lol. |
