"Rear differential is seeping fluid near right drive flange"
This was noted on my most recent service invoice. Looking at RealOEM:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_1250 Is #13 and #14 the ones that need replacement? Is this a hard DIY? The service advisor told me it's not bad....should I just leave it and check the oil levels/change the oil more often? I found this via a google search - sounds like the dealer just replaces the whole diff? http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=524602 |

Diff leaks like that look far worse than they really are. Over tens of thousands of miles you'll not loose much fluid.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
