Tape residue removal
I am going into the $tealership in a week or so for a service & a couple of minor warranty items (hard brake pedal etc).
Anyway I am going to remove my V2 so as to avoid any potential issues. Thing that I would like to do however is to remove the electrical tape residue from the wires going back into the ecu. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. |

dont get any ideas but i know that lighter fluid is superb for removing any kind of residue. It all evaporates quickly so don't worry about the safety of the method. Definately the cheepest way to go!

i just used heat shrink tubing with a blowdryer. honestly, i tried electrical tape, but i found that it takes less time to just cut the tubing and shrink it. Plus this way u get a really good connection and don't have to worry about the wires disconnecting and no residue. to take it off, just cut one end with a razor and rip it open.

Visit your local pharmacy and ask for Zoff - I think it's made by Smith + Nephew. It's used in the medical industry to remove stubborn adhesive residue on the skin. Can also be used on hard surfaces. If you have any difficulties locating it, PM me.

Goo Gone is what I always use, took all the sticky stuff off left from the factory off with ease.
