Just bought my BMW Performance Exhaust!
Ok so the title may be misleading. I bought my bmw pe from a dealership out of state and made an appointment to have it installed tomorrow morning.im pretty excited and this will be my last mod for a couple of months I have to save up for the expensive genuine Mtech bumpers. For those curious I have a 2012 335xi AW W/coral red interior. I think I got a fair deal for the exhaust aswell I paid $1,144. Compared to the $2,000 my local dealer charged me.

Congrats! I paid a similar price, which I think is pretty good for a new one.
It really is the proverbial icing on the cake, especially once you break it in. |

I'm actually not a big fan of either of the PE exhaust tips. The problem with trying to replace them is that there isn't much space to mount an aftermarket tip. My installer advised me that there was only about 4-5" of space before the tips would need to be mounted at a slight angle. Mounting tips at an angle would look pretty bad if you ask me.

If you look at the PE exhaust the pipe is only straight for about 4-5" then it bends inwards towards the muffler. If you bought a 7-8" long tip, it would have to be welded to the bend. Even if they tried to straighten it out, it would still be angled several degrees.
I didn't think much of it until I started looking more closely at people who welded aftermarket tips to their muffler. If they use the typical 7" long tips, they will either have to let it stick out or install at an angle. Both of which I wouldn't want to do. |
