spray tint removal

what's the best way to remove spray tint on headlights? I have tried Goof Off and it didn't seem to work. Has anyone tried Motsenbocker Graffiti remover?

I'd just go with a headlight restoration kit, something with a light sandpaper and then a few stages of polish..

thanks for the tips, is it required to put clear coat after sanding and polishing them? if so which clear coat is best for this job?

Dab a cloth with some gasoline. Apply a bit of pressure and the tint will come off easily.

I tried Motsenbocker lift off graffiti remover and it didn't work.... guess i will try gasoline, if still not working i will just sand them off sigh......

Gasoline may need to sit abit on the paint to desolve it. You can also try diesel, which is abit oilier/fatter. Acetone will probably also work.

Acetone will definitely work, but buy the stuff at the hardware store and not nail polish remover (which likely isn't strong enough). There is also a chance that it will haze your headlights and you'll have to polish that out. But it's going to be easier to polish that haze out than to polish out the marks you'll get from sanding it.

Is it film tint or paint tint? If its film tint dishwasher liquid and razor blade can surely remove it. if its paint Megs headlight restoration kit will not only remove, but also restore its original brightness.

they are paint tint, but im not sure what type of paint that is........
