Netflix vs Hulu

I've had Netflix for around a year now and am wondering if the grass is greener on the other side. Has anyone switched over to Hulu from Netflix and stayed there? If you have tried both, which one do you prefer?

I've had Netflix for years then got hulu to go with it. I found I never used hulu so I got rid of it. On a side note, I have amazon prime so I use that too.

Netflix seems to be more geared to movies
Hulu seems to be more tv shows

Interesting. I like to watch movies but I tend to watch more TV shows. I think I might cancel my Netflix for a few months and try out Hulu. Love watching Top Gear and Netflix only has seasons 17-21 so its getting boring. Might try Amazon if I hear the new show with the three stooges is good .

Netflix is nicer for TV shows as you do not get ads every so often unlike Hulu though it has more TV shows. When you watch movies, the latter don't have ads though but former has more movies.

I've got both. Hulu for watching current shows, Netflix for movies and old shows.

Both work great when shitty Directtv goes down

I hate Hulu because there were still ads with the subscription fee. If I'm going to pay to use a service, I don't want any more ads at all.

Still has Ads I believe, just at the beginning/End instead of the middle.

While Netflix is better for movies and the TV shows they carry, Hulu has a lot more TV content. I'm an old guy and have enjoyed binge-ing on all the old shows Hulu has from when I was a kid (Time Tunnel, Night Gallery, Outer Limits, etc). I have them both (no other cable) and it's been worth the $16/month to me.

Netflix is $8 a month and Hulu is $8 a month, get both. Cable is way more than $16 a month and you'll save time watching only what you want to watch without a ton of commercials are reruns.

After time, both suck.
Netflix is great for movies you've never heard of and don't care to watch.
They want to spend more money on making their own programs, which honestly aren't bad, than buying rights to things you've heard of and want to see.
Hulu, it also has oodles of movies you've never heard of. And lots of TV shows that you might want to rewatch.

I enjoy nonfiction type TV, nature shows, science stuff, documentaries, etc. There just isn't much content to satisfy my TV wants. There is virtually no NOVA programs on either ... but if you get PLEX you'll get NOVA.

Look into PLEX before you sign up for either Netflix of Hulu. For broadcast TV, PLEX is the clear winner IMHO.

Just started my free trial of Hulu today and the ads are pretty irritating. From the looks of the contents early on, I'll probably get through watching all the things I want in a month or two and cancel.

NOVA is free straight from PBS isn't it?

Looks to be. But I can't stream it to my TV from my laptop. Windows 10 kinda sucks.
Plus with PLEX I can stream from my video collection (DLNA).

Netflix because it's free...using my mom's account. lol I also use Amazon Video because it's also free with my Prime account. It's not bad and at least has HBO shows.

I use Netflix and Amazon Prime. I did the one month trial of Hulu and found that I rarely used it. I go in and out of Netflix spells but right now I am all in with Narcos. It's really great.
