Steering Feels loose after changing breaks and rotors
Hey everyone, Im new to this forum. I owned a 2008 328i E90(Which I totaled in a car accident) and currently own a 2009 328i E90 as well. I just got the brakes and rotors replaced yesterday. I bought R1 Concepts E Line Drilled and Slotted Rotors & Power Stop Z17 Brake Pads. The mechanic who Installed them for me took FOREVER to replace them.

The Sachs factory shocks will deteriorate pretty fast with lower stiffer springs, especially if they have some miles on them.
That's pretty strange about the steering wheel feelign loose. I hope they didn't take your car out for a long "joy ride" and hit a pot hole in the process. I would also re-torque the wheels. Most of my local mechanics have no clue what the torque settings are and tighten everyone's lugs to 120-130psi with an air impact gun. Harry

The torque on lug nuts will not affect the steering especially if tighten to 120/130 as mentioned above.
Neither the new brakes would. I believe is due to your crap out suspension. If your struts are already leaking when the suspension was unloaded while car on the lift and then reloaded again they give out completely. Replace them with struts designed for lowering springs. Stagged and KYB are not good. Get Koni or Bilstein |
