New iPhone 6 won't pair with my '09 LCI 335i.
Ok guys, I just finally upgraded my 5 year old iPhone 4 to a brand new iPhone 6.
My enthusiasm was crushed when I found the damn thing won't pair with my car via bluetooth. (never had a problem with my 4, or my wife's iPhone 5). Is there any easy fix for this? |

That's interesting, I have the worst luck with iPhones, since I've gotten my prelci 335i I've had 2 new iPhone 5's and on my 3rd iPhone 6, all of them pairing for phone calls no problem. You can try to back up and restore the iPhone to see if it's a phone issue.

My car is an LCI. I don't think the E90s have that feature, or at least they didn't up to 2009 model year. But I can only speak for non-iDrive/Nav, since I don't have those bells & whistles.

Combox added A2DP Bluetooth music streaming ability on E90s.
09/2010 builds onwards I think. Regarding inability to pair, have you deleted your old phone pairings from your CIC and started from scratch? This happened to my mum on a VW golf, she was trying for quite some time and gave up. I deleted all pairings and I had it set up within 2 mins. Maybe it hit a pairing limit? Who knows. |

Not sure it will make a difference, and the last thing you want is to delete all pairings on my suggestion, and then not be able to repair the ones that were already working..!
If it was me I would give it a go, at least then you will know if you have an issue with the car not accepting the pairing, or an issue with a specific phone. |

Follow-up.
I got it working! Two things I did, not sure which actually made the difference. 1) Did a "reset" of the phone. 2) Deleted the remaining phones from the car's memory. It had three on there before (my old iphone, my wife's iphone and her old blackberry). Prior to yesterday I had only deleted my iphone off that list, leaving the other two and figuring I could just add one more back on. So far it works flawlessly. (I'll worry about re-pairing my wife's iphone 5 later). Thanks for the suggestions everyone. |
