when to change engine and transmission mounts

Hi, my car has about 55k miles, 2008 335i, and noticed some vibration in steering wheel at <1000 rpm. Vibration is greater when going from park/neutral to drive/reverse. Also saw vibration in midpipe exhaust when on the lift. Is it time to change mounts?

I think you should be ok until around 70-90k for motor and transmission mounts. I just replaced both on my car and I'm at 116k miles.

Change the transmission mounts the next time you change your oil. Super easy to do.

I changed my trans mounts with rogue mounts at 100k, and then my motor mounts when I did my oil pan at 120k. I wouldn't go out of your way to change motor mounts unless your at higher mileage, or if your dropping the subframe for another job.
....or if your worried about the ps pulley hitting your subframe lol

Anyone have the DIY links handy for these two? I'm due for both. Leaning towards the E46 M trans mounts and is motor mounts (passenger).
