Still smoking after motor swap? Oil buildup?
Hi guys,
I got my car back with a 67k mile motor and turbos put in, and all seemed well when I pulled out of the shop. Got 5 minutes down the road (car starting to warm up), and boom... cloud of white smoke as I rolled to a red light. The car has new valve cover, VCG, oil pan gasket, both main seals. It is smoking just as it was before (and smells the same too), is it possible that the car just has a ton of oil in the exhaust and is burning it off? I'm kind of in denial that these turbos are blown also. Side note, I'm shocked at how good a healthy 335i runs. Map 1 on this setup feels like map 7 on the old one. Maybe now I can finally outrun a coyote... |
