Vivid Racing ECU Flash
While searching for a local shop to install a water/meth system for me I came across a shop that flashes the "ECU". I was more than a little surprised as I thought there weren't many people in the country that offered this service, mostly just the few well known here on the boards. price is only $800 and claimed power is "296HP / 443 ft/lbs". Whatever a "ft/lbs" is. anyone heard of these guys?
*note: didn't want to post a link due to ignorance of rules but they're pretty easy to find.* |

The amount of pressure on the brake it will take a person to stop the car. This will generally increase after a more powerful tune, hence the moniker. |

Really not much of a tune, 31 hp and 18 lb ft? Maybe 296/443 is supposed to be at the wheels? If not, that's a lot to pay for a tune that make way less power than all the piggyback options out there

Thats what I was thinking too Hooper. Of couse there are claims of vastly improved mpg (45-47 highway) and other improvements but it does sound inferior to the well known tunes here. It would be nice to just roll into a shop to get a tune though, instead of having my car out of commision for about a week.

![]() Seriously, here's an explanation you might be able to relate to. If you have a socket wrench with a handle that is 1 foot from the socket, and you apply 100 pounds of force to say tighten a lug nut. You will be applying 100 ft lbs of torque. If the handle is 2 feet long, 200 ft lbs. 2 foot handle with only 50 ibs of force, back to 100 ft lbs of torque. It is that simple. An engine with 443 ft lbs of torque means that it will really tighten down your lug nuts. ![]() Last edited by DWR; 02-01-2016 at 03:44 PM.. |

Man, I need to get me one of dem fancy gauges. How have I gotten through 15 years of driving without a gauge telling me how hard I am braking? Anyone get one installed on their D?
