No auto-up on front windows, won't initialize in INPA
My front windows go up and down just fine, but they will only auto-down, and they won't auto-up.
I tried all of the up/down/up/down/a/b/a/b stuff with no luck, so I plugged up INPA and tried initializing...the back windows went up and down just fine, but the fronts went down and didn't go back up. I was able to use the window switch to get them back up...but they wouldn't auto-up. Anyone have this problem and successfully fix it? I've got a 2011 E91 xdrive if that makes any difference. |

I had this same issue with my windows earlier this year after I had disconnected the battery terminal to clean my engine bay. I took it to BMW for a diagnosis cause I could not figure it out myself. Turns out the FRM (foot rest module) needed to be replaced. Seems the module is very sensitive to voltage changes. BMW wanted ~$1000 for part, labor, and coding . I ended up buying a new FRM3 from an online BMW dealership and had it coded by a local guy. The part was not cheap ($350ish) but after the replacement and coding, my windows auto rolled like normal.

Did all of your windows not going back up, or just the one?

I don't remember if it was all the windows but definitely the front windows did not work.

I'm not totally convinced that the problem is the FRM, I seem to be able to communicate with it okay with INPA. It just won't roll the front windows up after it rolls them down. |

Any resolution to this? I'm having the same problem. Just took delivery of my car and the battery was dead as the guy tried to get it off the truck. Then I noticed only the driver side won't auto up and I was getting cc-is 125 for the rear right taillight. Apparently some of the LEDs aren't coming on. Not sure what is going on.

There's an anti-trap mechanism on the window regulator that I'm going to check next. I've got to pop the door panel off to get to the regulator though, and I'm dreading that. |
