Sub-regional desitnations and Port of Entry
Hi all...
My apologies if this has been addressed previously, but I've searched for the answer here and on other boards, and I haven't yet found the answer, and based on questions asked here by others, I'm guessing the information I'm looking for either hasn't been made available, isn't available, is difficult to find, or doesn't have an practical answer. Anyway... I am aware of the "east coast," "west coast" arrival ports, but I have been wondering if there are "strict" or "rule of thumb" guidelines BMW uses to determine where one's vehicle will dock in the US, based on sub-regional destinations (ex. IL/IN/WI, PA/OH, etc.)? For instance, I live in the Chicago area, and from what I can observe, most, if not all vehicles destined for my area arrive in SC, even though NY/NJ is closer, and would cut delivery times down by about 4-5 days. So... Are there any guidelines BMW publishes, or which others may have ascertained are used in determining where a vehicle will dock (port of entry), based on it's "more specific, sub-regional" destination inside the US aside from the more broad "east coast/west coast" guidelines? Thanks. Fletch!

Me too ... i live in Memphis. I think I'm about 600 miles due west of SC. However, my car appears to be going to Jersey City, which is about 1300 miles northeast.
Any ideas? |
