CEL after installing SSTT, anyone?
Since there are mixed reviews (mostly positive for sure) about the SSTT, I thought of taking some opinions from guys who have installed it and got the CEL (Check Engine Light) on. Anyone? I would like to have those guys, who have got the CEL light & installed SSTT, to post here.

Your title is kind of misleading...I think there were one or two threads here about CEL with SSTT, but I don't remember if SSTT was really a cause.

none here...if you installed it incorrectly (which would be difficult) you might throw a CEL.

I got one when I 1st installed it. What i did was take it off, let the car idle and drove around a little. Installled it again afterwards and since then, no codes.

You will get a CEL if you don't make sure the car is in sleep mode first before unplugging the TMap sensor. There have also been very rare instances of Limp modes but overall one of the most trouble free boost mods

u will get limp mode or check engine light with DP's which most tunes out there will get. the ecu throws it.
and Radgator1 is right, another way to get a check engine light is if u dont put it to sleep mode like said for install and uninstall. 15k miles with not even a hiccup |

+1 make sure you wait 30 min after the car is off or just unplug the battery!

sounds like your car. its pretty hard for the SSTT to throw any codes at all. talk to Eurobahn and split second and see if they can exchange the unit. just give them a call.

I installed the SSTT and it worked fine. But after 5k miles, I got many codes and limp modes that cleared after a restart.
I emailed Jon@theMshop, where I bought it, and someone at SS. Neither of the chaps could make heads or tails of it. So I took it off and it still went into limp. It turned out that my VANOS unit was shot and it had NOTHING to do with the SSTT. I run the JB2 now, b/c I think it's better on the top end. SSTT was better low down, or that is the 'butt dyno' says.
