eas dice

Does the eas Dice work with the 08 328i sedan? If it does, how does i compare with the OEM ipod kit that is an option for the 328i? And can I control and choose songs using the Idrive?

The reason for this is because I didn't get the usb port option when i purchased my car, and I heard that I can't add this after the car has been built.

So this is the option I was thinking off. Any thoughts?

And how is the installation for this as well.

thanks

This DICE will not work with the new 3-series, but you have your choice of 2 different integration kits:

BMW - iPod Integration Kit for e90/e91/e92 3-series
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=393

mObridge - iPod integration kit for e90/91/92/93 3-series
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=1651

Full descriptions of both kits can be found on the website, let me know if you need anything else.

BMW kit is there in the video on the website, we are putting together the final touches on the mObridge kits at this time. Biggest differences are browsing abilities and mObridge having the ability to upgrade the firmware as new iPods are introduced - as well as the possibility of specific features depending on iPod/touch/iPhone.

More info coming soon.

Same installation procedures as the BMW kit. If you are not prewired for a changer, the radio will need to be removed for the harness to be plugged in.

As with both kits - they do require activation from your BMW dealer after installation. For those in the SoCal area, we can program in-house.

and the plug that goes to the ipod, does that go to the glove compartment? or can that go into the arm rest instead?

Typically the glovebox is the best place. The iPod's Clickwheel is locked out once connected, so iPod placement is not a concern.

Closer than you think, we're performing a followup of a kit we've had in field testing tomorrow.

Info to follow shortly in a separate thread.

I have been waiting on this Mobridge kit for quite some time. When will it be launched? If I purchase now when will I get it? Lastly, does it give you FULL use of your steering wheel controls even if I do NOT have I-drive?

Thanks

While the iDrive models is a bit easier to navigate visually, the non-iDrive is compatible as well. We are having some final coding cleaned up for the e9X 3-series and new R56 MINI which share the same systems.

Kits have been shipping for some time. The good news about the mObridge units is that they are end-user upgradeable via SD card. We have been working closely with mObridge and providing test data in order to make these kits stable and simple for the DIY installer.

To answer your question - yes. The iPod can be controlled with your factory steering wheel controls with clean sound and charging capabilities.

You say they have been "shipping for some time" yet you say you are "cleaning up final coding". What do you mean? Is it not yet stable and error free on the E93? Again, you say you are "making them stable and simple for the DIY installer". Is there an issue that is being worked out?

We're simply cleaning up code as indicated earlier to make a more stable platform. From an end user perspective - you probably would not see any changes in operation.

Not with the mObridge, but we are putting the final touches on that specific kit as we speak. More info as its released (along with pricing) in a separate thread.

Depends on the BMW kit. The MOST-specific BMW kit will work, but there are limitations - especially when compared to the mObridge kit.

According to BMW, you will need to be 9/2005 or later build date. We do have not tested the BMW-branded ktis on earlier vehicles since most prefer the mObridge.
