Thermostat went. It's stuck open. Any worries?
My thermostat blew today. $500 I don't have at the moment. Any worries letting it alone for a while? It's in the open position. I live in Florida. It was 101F today. Since I don't need it closed to warm up the oil I'm figuring I'm ok for a couple months. Any issues I should be aware of?

Idk. Shop said it was bad thermostat. They reset it and it went again. Said should be fine just watch the temps. But I'm thinking if it's open, why would they get hot anyway? Just longer to warm up right?

Definitely not reccomended to drive on but its not the end of the world. It will take much longer to warm up if at all, causing it to run rich and burn much more fuel. I would definitely refrain from burrying the skinny pedal.

When I first bought my 335i, the thermostat was bad. And just having bought it, I drove around, installed a JB4, DCI, etc and after like a month the dealership replaced it. So, get it replaced when you can but no rush.

How did it blow?! Bad Luck maybe.., just to be on the safe side I would replace it ASAP. You do not want to risk anything getting messed up. I'm not a mechanic but I think it would b on the wise side. How's the car running?! Any other changes that you can notice?!
