Oil cooler progress

I made a post earlier about the problem that I have. I dont have an oil cooler therefore cant due the Dinan ugrade. I spoke with my dealer and he told me to call BMWNA and make a complaint and get a reference #. After which I told him that since November he had 7 car sales because of me. My car included. Now my brother law wants a 335 and my sisters boyfriend wants an X3 (why I have no clue). I sent him an email stating this and he forwarded it to his manager who forwarded it to the warranty guy at the dealership. The warranty guy shot me and email about the oil cooler and then sent me another email saying that the dealer manager sent him another email stating how many cars were sold since November on referals. He knows full well that when my lease is up and my dads lease is up we will get two more cars since we have leased 4 from him already between the 2 of us.

So now the warranty guy is looking into what can be done to install an oil cooler for me. BMWNA said to contact the dealer and talk to them and see if they would install it in good faith. I was like this is bullshit. My dads 535xi has an oil cooler. The feakin 135 has an oil cooler so why doesnt my 335xi coupe have one. I have 6mt and the sports package. Apparently I dont have the 18 inch wheel upgrade therefore no oil cooler. The techs also told me to keep bringing the car in and telling them I have an issue with my oil and I listened to some of you guys on the forum and have been ringing the car out until it hits a high temp. So far no limp mode though. But I will keep you guys posted on what happens.

Its probably not a good idea to run the shit out of your car during these types of temperatures outside...Wait until it gets warmer outside..hot and humid, then run the shit out of it...I am sure you will induce some kind of limp mode then!!!

I have heard of someone getting it put on without referring anyone to the servicing dealer. Unfortunately they were unable to tell me more about it due to a waiver they may or may not have had to sign.

I understand you want to get the oil cooler, and agree the car should have one, but if you're leasing the car, who cares? Drive the shit out of it and then turn it in. You don't have to worry about longevity, and as of yet, you haven't had any problems with reliability.

Im also pushing the issue because I want the Dinan upgrade. Otherwise you are right about the car being leased.

Cycler, that's big dollars for the Dinan to put into a lease, with no resale value for the car or the tune. Just get yourself a SSTT, then sell it when you turn in your leased vehicle. People seem quite pleased with the SSTT, they sell fast here, and you don't drop an extra 2k+

Limp mode kicks in at 314 F...correct me if I'm wrong....which means you'd really have to haul ass while redlining in order to go to limp (I know from experience....3 track sessions ended in limp)

If you aren't tracking your car the oil cooler shouldn't become a problem at all.

If you are leasing the car who cares if it hits 260 on a daily basis? That's not even really all that high...

Jus get stage 1 Dinan. Not that far off from stage 2. 18hp crank to be exact. And you dont need the oil cooler as well. 11-11.5 psi.366 hp crank. Im sure thats enough.
