BPC is looking for DDE control units! $$$

Good morning gentleman,

Bimmer Performance Center is looking for used DDE8 out of 2009 - 2011 335D or 2009 - 2012 X5 35D.

I will list part numbers below for the units, so that you can see if your unit qualifies for us to buy it from you.

We will take DDE's that have been opened ONLY IF they do not have a spiderboot chip installed. We will pay slightly less for opened DDE's. Ideally, we are looking for stock, unopened DDE's.

Please send me a PM if you have a qualifying unit and we can discuss pricing!

Thank you all,
John @ BPC

Did you buy up all the 335d and X5d computers? I just got mine from there. Could also check with LKQ if their price works for you.

We bought a few, we're still on the hunt for more. The more the better! We'll keep an eye on LKQ. It's a bit tough to find them on there because not all of the serial numbers get listed. We want to make sure we're buying the right ones.

Thanks for all of your help guys. Much appreciated.

Spider boot chips cannot be removed and the n57 comes with the edc17cp45 and it looks the same as the m57 edc17cp09, they are not interchangeable.

How can you tell if the ECU has a spiderboot chip? Do you have any photos to show what the chip looks like once installed?

The spider boot chip looks like this, but they may vary a bit.

What is the point of the spiderboot?

The spider boot is basically a "piggy back" system installed into the factory DME in order to gain control and tune it.

The reason we would like a virgin DME is because sometimes these are glued in place, or the fact that they've been soldered in complicates things quite a bit. We wouldn't want to sell a unit to a customer that has been tampered with.

Thanks!

John

I bought a unit from local salvage yesterday. It falls under version 2 of your list above.

I got another one this last weekend. Also falls under version 2 in your list

Both units do not have the spider boot. First unit is almost to its destination in far northwest. Planning to have my ECU cloned with factory software loaded.
