Hardwiring dashcam and gps tracker with a fuse tap
Hi Guys
I'm having trouble hardwiring my dashcam and gps tracker in my 2009 bmw E91, i'm hoping someone on here might be able to help me. I'm using a fuse tap from ebay to add a circuit: I did the same exact thing on another car and there it is working fine but on my BMW it keeps getting power even when the ignition is off. I tapped in to a fuse that should lose power when the ignition is turned off (radio) but it does not. I even locked myself in the car and measured all the fuses when the ignition was off and they ALL have power. I thought maybe it was a timer so i connected everything, locked the car and waited over an hour but still the dashcam was powered on. Can someone explain to me what i'm doing wrong? Thanks for your response! |

So use a different Fuse location. See if you can use Fuse #5. I unsure if our fuse box is wired differently so do check on the fuse diagram to make sure.

Use the 12v accessory fuse. I have and it works perfectly.
I have a 2006 Pre-LCI E90. Anthony |
