OK, this has happened 3x in the past year after AA Stg3 Tune (never happened on stock tune) - think I finally see HOW it occurs, just need some insight as to what the code really means

2009 328iX E92 Auto with AA Stage2 Tune

• Accelerating fairly hard in DS mode for better pickup
• At some point, decide I'm going fast enough, & while still accelerating/without leaving off the gas - I move the shift lever over to regular D instead of using paddle to upshift, in order to lower revs by going into higher gear - OR- just leave car in DS and under hard acceleration, at some point when the rpm's get higher (& without me shifting anything)...
• Hear a clunk & every available light in cluster lites up while the car dies & goes in to a REALLY harsh 'Limp Home' mode where it will only go 5mph max & even then it is surging/bucking

Fix:

• Pull over & shut off the car then restart. Upon restart most of the cluster lites go out with exception of 'Brake' '4x4' & 'DSC triangle' but car runs normally
• I can drive the car fine, but those (3) error lites will stay lit until I clear the code with my P3 Gage, shut off the car, & let it sit long enough for the car to go to 'sleep'

After that - start car, error code gone, warning lites gone, & car runs normally

Obviously, now that I know what creates this problem I will not do it again (actually didn't think there was any harm in moving shift lever from DS to D while accelerating hard) but I guess there is
