Looking for information on what to look for in a 2014- 2015 Audi A4
What is a quatro, 1.8L or 2.0L
What to look out for and what to avoid?
Looking to spend around the $45K mark with less than 40,000Km

Quattro is all wheel drive. Make sure you get Quattro if you can

Also if either 1.8 turbo or 2.0 turbo get 2.0 obviously

Problems are it's an Audi and that is going to the dark side

Also make sure transmission is all good. VAG cars like to have bitch fits with autos every now and again

You're on the wrong forum. Head over to ozaudi.com and get some proper info from actual owners who know what they're talking about. ?

Traitor haha. Too front heavy for my liking. F30 328i FTW. I drove one the other day. They feel so nice to steer.

I have a 2015 b8.5 quattro bought new from dealer.

IMHO don't bother anything less than a quattro on a audi, that's after all their "forte". Be prepared for understeer! the FWD models are much slower too, even with the same 2.0T engine.

I'm impartial to the sline package, but maybe consider getting a vehicle with comfort pack, which will give you folding side mirrors, electric passenger seats and memory seats.

The tsfi 2.0t engine is known to consume oil, so remember that you'll need to get a topup every 7-15k kms, depending on how heavy your right root is. The MMI is a little dodgy, learn the 3 finger salute to reset it.

Why not see if Audi has any excess run out stock on the b8? I bought mine brand new for not too far from what you're looking to pay for it. Took quite a few dealer runs and days of nego to get the price down from a quoted inital $68k. I really preferred the f30 328i but the missus always liked the A4 and it was a surprise anniversary present for her, but.... it was much cheaper than the 328.

Have owned a B7 A4 2.0T in the past.
Core things to be mindful of:
- Don't touch anything with CVT
- Always get Quattro
- S Line packages age and resell better (similar to M Sport)
- The last-gen B8 series is has ironed out most of the niggles from previous generations
- Get manual if your friend prefers it
- Oil consumption can catch you off guard if you're not on top of it.

Yep, cousin has a 2 litre quattro a5 cab and that thing drinks oil like crazy and they have a timing belt that needs to change which is a pain and not cheap either. Buy one with warranty and sell again before 100,000 kms. Apparently that's when the transmission/dsg problems start..

Most people sell at 100k because they don't want to deal with the timing belt change. Most cars need timing belt changes at roughly the same mileage. If you go to an independent they charge significantly less for the timing belt + water pump. In Melbourne, give Audvolks a call and ask for James.
