BMW servicing
Guys my 2009 BMW 330d LCI has a full BMW service history and is going in this week for a brake fluid service and vehicle check. The car has only covered 52000 miles and has been incredible well looked after. I am aware the first owner always had the oil changed my often than needed but I'm now thinking should i stick with the BMW service indicator or do you think its worth changing the oil yearly? Also am i right in thinking the Micro filter is a pollen filter and is changed every other year? I want to keep the car in tip top condition

My pollen filter gets done with every service, as does the air and oil. Oil and filter gets changed every 9k miles.

Ok cheers guys I think I'll start doing the same as the oil was last changed at 38k and is not due for another 7k or May 2017 so will get the oil changed and a new air filter and pollen filter thanks all.

Yeah I change every 9-10k myself, then when it needs doing by BMW, I get them to do it, keeping the service book up to date. Spark plugs too - change them myself at every half interval, and then get BMW to do the official one.
Things like brakes, I do myself... not paying BMW prices when i can get the bits for half the price, and have the rest of the tools to do the work. |

I have a 2009 320D and I do less that 9000 miles a year so I only change the oil annually in the summer.
It's fairly easy to do and I carry out this service myself and keep all invoices in my logbook. |

OP your decision will depend on how long you intend to keep the car. If you swap cars regularly, then going back to the indicator-led servicing will be fine. But if you're intending to keep this car long term, then I'd continue with the more frequent oil and filter changes.

I tend to do eveything at half the intervals recommended by BMW. Never had a problem with a car because of it!
