Exclamation Serive Engine Soon

Hi all,
I'm whole new to Bimmer so I'm ready to learn.
I got my 328i 2011 two months ago. At that time, the car was completely fine, no light in the dashboard as I carefully checked. However, I've been noticing that my dashboard has a Service Engine Soon but it only appears when I press the "Start Engine" button, not that I hold the brake and press "Start Engine" button which will start up the engine. So basically I do not get the light when my engine on. So should I bring my car to local mechanic which they charge me $200 to do the diagnose ??
p/s : I read couple threads before and they said to check the gas cap but I already check few times but it doesnt seem to do anything with the gas cap. I Also had an OBD device with me, but still no error code appears.

Thank You !!

You have nothing to worry about when you press button once all lights on dash come up when you start it all lights should go away if not then something needs fixing. Also do not go pay 200$ for diagnosis go to a regular mechanic to read the codes they wont charge you unless they do any work. Welcome to bmw (break my wallet)

I mean every other lights went off except the Service Engine light!! But it only stays there if I just press start engine button only. Once I hold the brake and press it (which the engine actually ignited) it appears and turned off after, unlike the one I just press without pedalling the brake

It just tells you the battery is discharging. That's normal.
