Diagnosed MOST loop break, what is this module??

Hi, long time lurker. You guys have been an excellent resource, and when my audio system stopped working, along with an "SOS MALFUNCTION" I knew exactly where to turn!

Here's my issue. I've got "everything" working again, followed the MOST fiber optic loop, and jumped the below module, and BAM everything works again. So my question is, does this module do ANYTHING other than satellite radio? If it doesn't have any other function I'm just going to leave it jumped.. I trust one of you more knowledgeable folks will know if I'm missing out on some additional feature by leaving it out of the loop.

Pictured: The malfunctioned module, draped in a great Amazon MOST jumper.

The one on the left side in the us for 06 to 09

The one on the left side in the us for 06 to 09
is the satalite radio module. The on the right is
a tcu or mulf module.

Also they should be labeled.

Don't you have to code out a MOST module if you bypass it?

Yes but it may cause the other modules to come

Yes but it may cause the other modules to come
back to life so you at least know which one is bad.
Before you either replace or decode it.
If you have logic 7 and the amp comes back to life this
can be a huge relief.
Or the bluetooth module can stop the sound even in
the Hi Fi system.

Yep, that's the SDARS (satellite radio) tuner. It doesn't do anything else. It should all still work fine without decoding, but you might have errors show up when you read the head unit and/or have non-functioning menus for satellite radio.

bringing the thread back to like.... my SDARS module failed. I have a MOST jumper in place, and sound is back again. My question is- could I just replace the SDARS module with another used unit? or does it need additional coding?
