Full Off Road build guide for 335d

I've had my car for about 1 month and 1200 miles and have been trying to gain as much knowledge about turning it into a reliable, efficient, torque monster (that it deserves to be). Here are my findings:

THINGS OF ISSUE:

CBU - Carbon Build Up (Cleaning)
EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation
DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter
SCR - Selective Catalytic Reduction
DEF Tank Removal- Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank Removal
Swirl Flap Delete
Vacuum Hoses
Harmonic Balancer

THINGS TO BUY:

Boost Pipe Upgrade: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-forge-pa...FQdWDQodvkwIvw or http://www.fixmyvw.com/bmw-335d-upgr...-intercoolers/
Turbo Back Exhaust: PM Iaknown for his exhaust or http://www.fixmyvw.com/scr-delete-ki...d-p-l-exhaust/
EGR Delete Plates: http://www.fixmyvw.com/bmw-335d-and-...ock-off-plate/
EGR Race Pipe: http://www.fixmyvw.com/egr-race-pipe...5d-and-x5-35d/ (alternative to deletes for full removal of EGR system)
Swirl Flap Delete: http://www.fixmyvw.com/swirl-flap-de...5d-and-x5-35d/
Intercooler: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...oler-e90-335d/
Tunes: http://bimmerperformancecenter.com/bpc-diesel/ or http://www.fixmyvw.com/bmw-335d-ecu-...g-performance/
New Vacuum Hoses 3.5mm: https://www.amazon.com/HPS-HTSVH35-B...mm+vacuum+hose
Meth/Water Injection: https://bimmer-performance-center.my...tem-for-diesel
Harmonic Balancers: https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-33...ngine/Pulleys/

Suspension: Ohlins BMS MI00 Road and Track Coilovers

Swirl Flap delete plates installation (Also a good time to replace vacuum lines and intake gaskets)

I hope this post isnt going to aggravate people due to some redundancy but I was hoping to create a One Stop Shop sort of thread for all the new 335d owners that should be rolling in.

If anyone has anything to add ie. links to other threads or common knowledge on tools required for certain installs I will update the post to include them all. Also, any top players and their locations for tunes/dynos or just handy mechanics that have seen all parts of the 335d. Thanks guys!

A link to JR's tune would be good. Yohz made a thread that has links to more threads regarding the vacuum issues so if you find that, throw it in there as well.

PM Ianknown about exhausts, he knows a good place to get them.

Those EGR delete plates keep the EGR cooler in place, but block it off. The EGR Race Pipe removes the cooler completely. You use one or the other, not both. I know people that just run the block plates to keep the engine looking stock. PM Iaknown about exhausts and block plates. Great guy, and very helpful.

You need to read the latter part of that thread. They are doing diesel tunes but only mail ins of your ECU. No more bringing your car to them for diesel work.

Is the swirl flap delete really desirable on the M57? I have read of problems with flaps breaking off on the Euro variant; is it also a problem on the U.S. models?

I haven't ever seen anyone having issues with the US version, but if the peace of mind is worth $40 plus shipping, then why not.

Great thread!

Just wanted to mention that we have a Charge Air boost pipe for $129 that includes all seals and better quality clamps than the other pipe that you had posted.

Is there an aftermarket exhaust manifold out there for or D's. I see in Europe, of course other D models do. Im sure the cast manifold is all caked up with Carbon and restricted. Can't be too difficult to copy the stock mani with bigger SS tubing or if it's even worth it?

i will install the catch can.

i blocked off the egr and it put my D into limp mode. does it require a tune?

codes were P401 and p402 - either not enough Exhaust Gas or too much... i think the p402 put it into the limp mode

how about meth injection?

is that the correct ebay link for the exhaust? Doesn't seem right to me, but I'm not even close to knowing as much as I want to for exhaust.
