Steering Angle Sensor Calibration Issue 335xi
I got inpa and NCS Expert installed and working on my 2008 11/7 build 335xi. I had to replace the Steering wheel switch assembly. My windshield wiper lever broke off.
I got a good used unit. I removed my air bag clock and put on the new good switch. I did not see that this has to be aligned at the arrow. So first time I started the car it was off. I saw this mistake in a thread. Took it apart put back together. of course now I am getting the steering error or in an Xi "4x4 error"light. I went into inpa.. the analog setting shows that the steering angle is way off. I went into NCS expert, found the DSC_89 file for my car. Then found in german the lenkwinkel_angle test. It runs the test the 4x4 warning light goes out for 1 sec then comes back on. I go into inpa and steering angle is still off. Its not calibrating. I have tried the turn the wheel to left lock then right lock.. Still nothing. My concerns is maybe the steering angle sensor is specific to the Xi model? after looking at the turn signal washer switch, you can remove the actual windshield washer switch. I am going to try to remove the good windshield stalk and install in my old steering angle sensor. Anyone else have any advice on how to get this to recalibrate on an e90 335xi? |
