Which slopes to shred up??

Ok the snow is falling and just got some new ski equipment, thinking of hitting the hills this weekend....where would you go.
I'm thinking Holiday valley or blue mountain as they are the best contenders for most snow/most runs open so far.

Already been to blue (I'm a local pass holder).

The conditions are ungroomed and only a few runs are open. As of yesterday only Green and Black runs were open. After today's dump, I'm going to say it's going to be great conditions for the weekend. But a lot of people will be thinking the same thing. Come up early and you'll be blessed with fresh tracks and not to many people.

I see you're from Kdub (my hometown) ...I'd recommend Glen Eden....it's small but a close drive, cheap and a good hill for the first runs of the season.

Thanks for the suggestion about glen eden....I forgot about that place.
Forecast looks favourable for good conditions.

IMO mammoth is hands down the best in the sierra but being in Tahoe you have access to more mountains(heveanly, squaw, kirkwood).

How far are you from Vermont? Best state in the east coast hands down.
Killington and Jay peak are my two fav spots there.

Heard holiday valley was fun, not a big mountain, but apparently very fun, planing to go there this weekend coming up.

Tremblant is nice, but every time we go there, it is brutally cold.

Whistler is definitely a place to check out, been there last February and it was phenomenal.

Plan for this year is to go check out Vail, Colorado. Just sucks that $$ exchange is bad, the price of the trip ends up being almost double than Whistler.

Go to Tahoe instead. Flying into reno and taking a 1 hr drive to Tahoe was so cheap. I think I got like round trip flight for like $200 last year. Had a blast at heavenly, sqauw, and Kirkwood(fav mountain)
CO, WY and UT are ridiculously expensive right now for flights.

Vail is hands down the best in CO I've been to. Aspen was nice too. Breckenridge(highest peak in NA) was just too packed and expensive. If I was to go to CO again I would go to Telluride, keystone, and Silverstone instead

Dude, I'll be out there next week too! First day riding is Thurs. Hopefully it keeps snowing like it has been.

To OP, I really enjoyed visiting Holiday Valley a couple years back. We went for 3 days and I didn't get bored with it, lots of different runs and good size considering its location.

Also, as others have said, Tahoe is awesome and has received a ton of snow this year. Personal favorite is Kirkwood; less touristy if you want to focus on the snow. Staying in South Lake is better if you want to enjoy more of the night life/casinos.
