Dumb Guibo question

Did Bmw do away with the "upgraded" metal version of the Guibos found on the 335is? I'm having trouble locating this part, and when I check ecs and realoem, I'm finding that the metal version is superseded by a new rubber version.

I Will be doing a clutch and flywheel replacement soon on my 2007 335i 6mt with 136k miles, and had always been planning on upgrading to this metal version. Does this part result in an Improvement you can actually feel, or should I just go with the all rubber version?

Garage List
I was just looking into this the other day and I listed it as part# 26117605629. Like you said, ECS is showing 26117546425 superseded by 26117610061, which is the rubber version.

ECS shows the BMW branded 26117605629 as NO LONGER AVAILABLE, but they offer a Febi Bilstein branded metal guibo under the exact same BMW part number (ECS part# ES#3177877).

FCPEuro would appear to still have the BMW branded version in stock.

Here's another link as well that confirms it's part# 26117605629

Interesting, I wonder why. I purchased mine for my 09/10 build date last fall and installed it when I did my Quaife and Turner RSFB's. Definitely seemed a solid upgrade and no NVH resulted.

Thanks for verifying - do you happen to remember the part number for the longer bolts I am being told are required when replacing the rubber guibo with the metal version? I can't find this anywhere...

I ordered the latest PN on real OEM and checked with Tischer BMW and there's no mention of a superseded PN for the bolts and nuts at the Guibo attachment location. The thickness of the two units is identical. There's only one set of bolt / nuts for this use on all 335is years so they must not have changed at least during that time period. I can look them up again if that would help but they weren't different.

Thank you I appreciate it. I was thrown off because a reply on another thread seemed to state that the metal guibo required longer bolts, but this must be incorrect.

No problem, just double confirmed because you had me worried for a moment. Confirmed the bolt is the exact same PN for new and old Guibo builds.
