Tint Shops/People in Cleveland Area
Anyone personally had their car tinted anywhere within 50 miles of Cleveland? I'd like to get mine done and would like to hear a personal recommendation.
Thanks |

I wish I knew the answer, as I am also interested. I know of a place or two that's local, but I don't have any idea of the reputation. I also haven't driven by them for a while, so who knows if they're still open for business?

Well, in any case, I want Formula One. They only have two dealers even close -- one in Wooster and one in Toledo. I've made an appointment at TST Appearance Center in Toledo for May 3rd. I guess I get to be the guinea pig.
I'll let you know how it goes. |

I went to this joint in brookpark. They did a shitty job. It's on fine and not bubbling but they put micro scratches in a couple windows. They said they would replace it but I was too lazy to take it back and they made a mess of my car anyways leaving the soapy water every where I figured I'd just deal with it since it's somewhat minor.
Toledo is a hike for a tint job. If you don't mind ask them how much it would cost for removal and re-tint on a e90... Thanks!

Ouch Darkcloud, sounds bad. Now you've got me paranoid. How did they put scratches in the windows? I wouldn't think that was a risk from tinting.
And do you mean they got soapy water *inside* the car or outside? Care to name names? Who was the installer and the place? |

The soapy water is used to apply the tint. They spray the tint to help smooth it out. That shop didn't care to cover my back seats or door panels so I was left with the soapy residue all over the place. It cleaned right up but it was pretty ridiculous of them to get it all over the place to begin with. That place is called 4wheelz or fourwheelz, something like that. Their on the corner of Chevrolet Blvd. and Snow Rd. in Brookpark in the same plaza as the new BMV. Don't go there ![]() Due to all that info now you'll have to ask how much it costs to do a removal and install, how quickly it can be done etc. Maybe they'll even give you a better deal if they give a price worth it for me to go out there. ![]()

BTW, I just sent off a email to Switzer Performance in Oberlin to see if they tint or know of anyone that does using F1, 3M or HO in the Cleveland area.
Switzer performance handles high end german cars etc. http://www.switzerperformanceinnovation.com/

They are charging me $350 for F1 Pinnacle on all windows except windshield. They say it will take about 3 hours. The other Northern Ohio F1 shop wanted $475.
I actually didn't decide on which one based on price. I chose based on convenience since both sounded very competent. Both have installers that do nothing but tints as their full time job. Both perform the work in their own shop in an enclosed bay. I liked that the Toledo shop has been in business many years and does nothing but detail and tint work. I'm wary of places that are mostly car audio places but dabble in tinting. |

Cleveland Recommendation
Anyone personally had their car tinted anywhere within 50 miles of Cleveland? I'd like to get mine done and would like to hear a personal recommendation.
I had a great job done by Northshore Tint in Parma. It is a 1 person shop but he does all of the tinting work for a Mercedes dealer and several others in that area. He helped me select the product and the appropriate tint for my '07 328xi. I would absolutely recommend his work. His name is Marco and his telephone number is 440.842.3511. His website is www.northshoretint.com. Lousy website but good tint work. As many other BMW owners, I am rather particular about my car and would never recommend anyone that didn't do great work. Good luck. rh |

Thanks Rhank. I actually stumbled across Marco's shop when I was searching the internet for a place. I considered going with him, but I really have my heart set on Pinnacle F1 tint.
In any case, my appointment is this Saturday. I should have the full report for everyone on Monday. |

Well, things went smoothly on Saturday. I dropped my car off at TST Appearance Center at 8:30AM and picked it up at 1:30PM. The shop looked professionally run, was clean, and had three real inside bays for tinting, detailing, and other appearance work.
They charged me exactly what they said they would: $350 plus tax. The tint job looks very good, although I won't know for a few days as it still need to dry out to see if the last of the fine lines and stuff go away. There aren't many now and I hope and expect them all to disappear. The guys there certainly told me I should bring the car back at any time if I'm not happy with anything. They were clean about it (thankfully after darkcloud's horror stories about his experience elsewhere). There was no sudsy residue anywhere in my car. The tint itself is also clean except for some on the rear window. I can't wait to clean that, but I'm going to wait a full 4 days before I touch anything. I'll try to take pics in another 4 days when it's fully set. But so far, SO GOOD. I'm thrilled with the look. I did end up going 35% Pinnacle F1 all around. |

Ozone is still open for business? I hardly notice any business there. I am thinking about the place on 254, near the bridge, but perhaps they moved; I think it was called Ozone. Getting old...

Tempting, but I still need to save the dollars necessary to buy my V2>V3 harness and the installation cost of my RR DPs. Maybe I'll hit the lottery tonight.

I just had my car re-tinted to fix my issues. Place called Tint Pros. It was kinda a hassle though. I contact the guy and tell him how my front windows were messed up. So he says no problem he'll take them off and retint for $100(both windows). Cool, he does it and the passenger window looked a kinda bad and had some dirt in between the film and window, plus the front tint was now way darker on the inside then the rear. Well he said he's retint both fronts and do the rears to assure everything matched for another $100. I didn't have in touch the rear window as it matched the new tint fine since it was tinted after I was rear ended last year.
So overall I paid $200 for all new tint on my windows. Most shops normally charge $200 just for removal so I think I got a great deal. I would highly recommend this guy. He definitely does a great job and is obviously willing to fix his mistakes.
